Every year, when entries for the Stackie Awards come in, I feel like a kid in a Christmas Story, excited to open the gift of my dreams. I'm always excited and inspired by the creative ways marketing teams visually represent their stacks – and so grateful they've been so willing to share them with our community. .

This year we have 29 beautifully illustrated martech stacks delivered.

They include some collaborators returning from previous years, such as Brighttail, Juniper Networks, LocalAct, PitchBook, Philips, Progress, Sargento and SAS. These are great because they provide a glimpse into the evolution of the stack system at these companies.

But we also have new collaborators including Autodesk, Betway, Itau Unibanco, Lyra Health, Merkle, Quest Diagnostics, Underworks, United Healthcare and Verizon. I like the variety of companies and industries that these entries represent.

In addition to providing valuable insights to the martech community, these contributors raised $2,900 for the program. COOP Recruitment nonprofit, helping underemployed college graduates gain digital skills and experience. The MarTech Conference donated $100 on behalf of each entry to The Stackies.

5 winning Martech stacks

As I disclaim every year, a “winning” martech stack is any martech stack that provides the capabilities and outcomes that make your organization successful. Nothing any contest judge has to say matters compared to the actual results.

Also, every company that has contributed to The Stackies deserves to be honored for publicly sharing their martech stack illustration with the martech community. We all learn from this amazingly growing collection. Sincere thanks to all of you.

But, hey, contests are a bit more fun when prizes are awarded. So we've picked five stacks from this year's set that we think are particularly notable for the detail they share, the organizational framework they've chosen, and/or the quality of the stack visualization. their.

Here are the five we've chosen – click on them to enlarge in high resolution:

Itaú Unibanco Martech Stack

Itaú Unibanco, a global financial services company, is the largest banking institution in Latin America and one of the twenty most valuable banks in the world. While their martech stack illustration doesn't reveal the specific products they use, it does a great job showing the “group” of capabilities their stack offers and for see them as related. Magnifico!

Betway Martech Stack

Betway is one of the leading online gambling and sports betting platforms in the world. One of the things I appreciate about their stack is how they've included in-house built technologies, as well as commercially available applications. In the age-old debate between construction and buy, the correct answer is increasingly “both”. With that combination, I see a straight outpouring of royalty!

SAS Martech Stack

SAS is one of the world's leading analytical software companies – and also the largest privately held software business in the world. This is the second year they entered The Stackies and won (this was last year's entry). The categorization of their capabilities and the level of detail they've provided is great, but I also think they've done a great job of showing where their products fit into their stack and where they are. complemented by other vendor tools.

Philips Martech Stack

Philips is an extremely successful multinational company founded 130 years ago in the Netherlands, with industry-leading products in lighting, audio and healthcare. They are also another annual winner (this is their plus point from last year). I love how their latest stack illustration shows their martech “ecosystem”, which all revolves around the customer at the center. They labeled the key capabilities, identified the key products they used for each, and displayed the chains of links between them. It is a masterpiece!

Juniper Networks Martech Stack

And finally, our fifth winner this year is Juniper Networks, one of the best companies in the world that offers network and security hardware and software. I am extremely grateful that they have shared their martech stacks with us every year since 2018. Each year, they continue to improve their model – and their own stack. Watching the evolution year by year is fascinating. And this year, they really knocked it out of the park. After you go through their rankings, read the Magazine article Harvard Business Review Don't buy the wrong marketing technology co-written by one of the team members at Juniper Networks and marketing professor Carl F. Mela of Duke University.
