User data today is a valuable digital resource business activities, marketing and customer care of businesses. The rise of the digital era and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic have caused a major change in user behavior. The rapid shift from offline to online has led to a clear growth in the online customer base of retail businesses. 

According to statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Trade:

  • Vietnam's retail industry currently has a market size of 142 billion USD, forecast to increase to 350 billion USD by 2025, contributing 59% to the country's GDP. 
  • Retail revenue of the e-commerce industry in Vietnam in 2022 will reach 16.4 billion USD, growing by 20% compared to 2021, and accounting for 7.5% of retail revenue of consumer goods and services nationwide.

The trend of expanding multi-channel sales is also increasingly evident. 57,65% sellers are doing business on at least two channels – in-store and online channels. Multi-channel sellers recorded revenue growth of 68,01%, while this ratio for online sellers was 16.9% and those who only sold offline in stores was 15,07%.. In 2022, the number of online purchases in Vietnam will reach more than 51 million people, an increase of 13.5% compared to the previous year, total spending on online shopping reached 12.42 billion USD. 

Besides, according to nunStatistics from Statista show that about 75% internet users in Vietnam have performed online shopping in 2021. The number of mobile Internet users in Vietnam has also continuously increased in recent years, and is forecast to continue. continues to increase in the period 2022-2028 with a total of 10.2 million users (+13,99%). 

It can be said that the retail industry in Vietnam has opportunities to develop strongly.
